
Will was a charter member of Warren County Junior Firefighters and was a member from 2008-12.
Will served as a junior member on both Macon Rural & Warrenton Rural Volunteer Fire Departments.
Will competed in at least six firefighter competitions, including the Warren County Firemen's Day Competition and the Warren County Junior Firefighter Competition both in Warrenton, NC, the Millers Ferry Junior Firefighter Muster in Salisbury, NC and the BSA WinterFest `12 in Gatlinburg, TN. Will also attended the South Atlantic Fire-Rescue Expo `10 in Raleigh, NC.
While in high school, Will obtained his North Carolina NFPA-1403 certification, was a member of the National Honor Society and the NC Academic Scholars, and graduated as the class Salutatorian.
After high school, Will served in the United States Army as a combat medic in the famed 82nd Airborne Division. While in the Army he earned his National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification while at Fort Sam Houston, TX and his Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB) at Fort Bragg, NC.
After the Army, Will was accepted to Western Carolina University where he majored in emergency medical care and graduated magna cum laude. Following graduation he went to work as a paramedic for New Hanover Regional EMS on the coast but currently works for Jackson County EMS in the mountains.
